The Dubai International Academy Model United Nations (DIAMUN) 2023 conference, which will take place in Dubai from March 3 to 5, is already accepting student registrations. On the DIAMUN website, registrations can be made electronically. This was made public after the Knowledge Fund Establishment (KFE) and Innoventures Education signed an agreement for KFE to serve as DIAMUN 2023's knowledge partner.

At the KFE headquarters in Academic City, Dubai, the MoU was signed in the presence of Poonam Bhojani, CEO of Innoventures Education, and Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, CEO of KFE. The 15th anniversary of DIAMUN will be celebrated in 2023 in DIA Emirates Hills.

According to Mr.Al Awar the Knowledge Fund Establishment supports activities that naturally create a favourable atmosphere for students to receive high-quality education and prepare them to be global citizens.He added that they are pleased to support the Dubai government's goal of developing future leaders for the knowledge economy by serving as DIAMUN 2023's knowledge partner.

Further ahead, Ms.Bhojani added that MUNs helps students strengthen their talents in diplomacy, discussion, and dialogue. DIAMUN, which is entirely student-run, is a rewarding experience that showcases the extensive preparation work that students do. Students grow in leadership and teamwork, and they have total control over their education. 

This year's conference promises to be even more energetic because to the landmark partnership with KFE, which will help develop the leadership abilities, cultural awareness, and empathy of our next generation of leaders. Every year, up to 800 delegates from as many as 20 nations and six continents participate in DIAMUN. The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) Foundation, one of the largest MUN organisations in the world, is linked with DIAMUN, the largest MUN conference in the Middle East.

2023 DIAMUN theme

The UAE has proclaimed 2023 to be The Year of Sustainability, hence "Collaborating to Foster Sustainable Development" will be the theme of DIAMUN 2023. This year's establishment of the "Special Conference on Climate Change" special committee was motivated by the UAE's hosting of COP28 from November 6 to 17. Resolutions and voting are digitalized with the DIAMUN Web software, which DIA Emirates Hills students created, making the conference completely paperless.

Secretary-General Yagiz Ozenci added that with their first entirely face-to-face conference in three years, DIAMUN 2023 goal is to provide an inclusive forum for youth and urge more students to speak up. He said that they do anticipate a jam-packed three days of intense discussions on current economic, social, and political topics where students can hone their skills in public speaking, writing, research, and conflict resolution.
