Graduates of Qatar Technical School for Girls are a valuable asset in the job market
- Mar 28, 2023
Qatar Technical School graduates academically and professionally qualified female technical experts who are valuable human resources for the job market and government organisations. This is the first specialized technical school for girls in Qatar and one of the country's top girls' schools.
The Qatar Technical School for Girls was established at the start of the academic year 2020-2021 by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with an objective of providing equal opportunities for girls by advancing women's technical training and education, and by increasing the rate of Qatarization for technical positions in all sectors for women.
Qatar Technical School for Girls follows the Australian TAFE model, providing tenth graders with three technical disciplines: electronics and communications, laboratory technology studies, and the Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate certification, which allows graduates to join higher education institutions in Qatar and abroad to pursue technical and non-technical studies, or to enter the labour market.
In addition to the three previously mentioned specialised technical certifications, the school curriculum incorporates 9 academic subjects: Islamic studies, mathematics, Arabic language, English language, physics, chemistry, social studies, biology, and physical education.
The objective of this school will end gender stereotyping in vocational and professional programmes and encourage women's involvement in non-traditional occupations. Also, it will meet the demand for technical education among the nation's elite population and to offer quality and equal opportunities for girls, which will encourage their participation in established and developing technologies.
