Extracurricular Activities

In the Junior School at NLCS Dubai, we offer exceptional extra-curricular provision that inspires students to be active, enthusiastic participants in a wide range of activities.

The extra-curricular programme runs at four different times meaning that students take part in activities with peers of the same age and activities are age-appropriate, but with sufficient challenge and rigour.

Our current timetable is as follows:

Grades 2- 5 have their ECAs after school from 3.20 – 4.00pm. The First School run the programme as enrichment as part of their provision as the last session of the day.

In the Junior School, more than 170 extra-curricular activities run each week providing an inspiring array for students to choose from. Some of these clubs run throughout the academic year, whilst others change each term. 70% of the clubs are non-chargeable and run by our own teachers and the rest are run by specialist providers. We currently have clubs such as Ballet, Mandarin, Karate, Sailing, Golf, student newspaper, Mad Scientists, STEAM, Chess Coding and Robotics, in addition to recreational and squad sports such as Tennis, Football, Netball and Swimming. Students compete in the DASSA sports leagues in various sports including Athletics, Aquathlon, Cross Country, Football, Netball, Rounders and Swimming.

The Arts are a key feature of life at NLCS Dubai and in addition to Orchestra, Choir and Drama clubs, students have the opportunity to enroll in private music and drama (Trinity) lessons which sees students participate in various concerts and productions throughout the year, which have become highly anticipated events in our school calendar. Each student is encouraged to develop new skills, interests and passions to help achieve a broad and balanced education.
