Today, IC stands as one of the world's largest international schools, boasting a student body of 3650 and a reputation for educational excellence across the Middle East. However, its origins trace back to a modest boys' school in Smyrna, Turkey, which, despite facing numerous challenges, evolved into a distinguished institution in Asia Minor. The IC journey commenced in 1891 when Canadian Protestant Minister Reverend Alexander MacLachlan founded the "American Boys School" in Smyrna, Turkey. Following several name changes, it eventually received its charter from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1903 and was officially named the International College.

School is upto Secondary School (IX-X) and affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The School is a Coed Day School, with classes from KG 1 to X. It is an English Medium school.
