The American International School Kuwait (AISK) is a distinguished private independent institution that offers comprehensive education, catering to students ranging from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. Oversight of AISK is vested in a Board of Owners, functioning akin to an American School Board, ensuring effective governance. AISK stands proudly as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum School, holding full authorization for the Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP), and Diploma (DP) Programmes. At the core of AISK's mission, students are accorded utmost importance, and the teaching and learning processes are recognized as pivotal elements in fostering the growth and development of students, faculty, and the broader AISK community. The educational facet of the organization is organized into three distinct divisions: Elementary (PK-4), Middle (5-8), and High School (9-12). Each division accommodates dedicated leadership and teaching teams, fostering collaboration within and across these divisions. AISK's commitment to excellence was reaffirmed through reaccreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) in 2013, and this accreditation status was subsequently reaffirmed in May 2017. As an IB Continuum School, all three IB Programmes were reauthorized in the spring of 2017, attesting to AISK's dedication to academic quality. On the operational front, the organization effectively manages financial affairs, admissions processes, and human resources. Close collaboration between the Superintendent, the Board of Owners, and the Business Manager ensures that the diverse needs of students are met efficiently across both educational and administrative spheres. Since its inception in 1991, AISK has witnessed steady growth and currently enrolls just over 2100 students across a 7-section school, with KG1 and KG2 now expanded to 8 sections. While English serves as the primary language of instruction, it is noteworthy that approximately sixty percent of the student body comprises Kuwaiti nationals.
