The DISJ kindergarten comprises two groups: the Caterpillars, aged 3-4, and the Butterflies, aged 4-5. Leisure time is shared between these groups to facilitate learning from the older children. The elementary stage encompasses grades 1 to 4, offering a curriculum that includes standard subjects taught in Germany such as German, mathematics, science, art, music, and physical education. Additionally, English and Arabic are taught using differentiated methods. Following primary school, the Orientation level in year 5 is introduced. Over the course of this year, teachers assess students' proficiency levels. Based on this assessment, students are placed into one of three recognized German proficiency levels: "Hauptschule," "Realschule," or "Gymnasium."
