About

Abu Dhabi International School (AIS) is a privately-owned K–12 educational institution that holds a license from the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education. The school's inception dates back to 1992 when it was founded by Mrs. Jihan Nasr. Mrs. Nasr has been unwavering in her mission, which is focused on enabling all students to reach their full potential in personal development and active citizenship by establishing the groundwork for lifelong learning through the provision of quality education. AIS comprises two campuses: the Abu Dhabi City Campus, established in 1992, and the AIS MBZ City Campus, inaugurated in 2015. The school community is notably diverse, with students and staff representing more than 70 nationalities. As of September 2020, AIS had a total enrollment of 3,500 students, and it allocates 5% of its student body to special needs students who may have learning difficulties or disabilities. Despite the diversity within its community, AIS has earned a reputation for fostering a sense of familial connection. Students, parents, and staff—collectively referred to as the AIS family—are deeply committed to preserving the school's nurturing learning environment, fostering a collaborative work atmosphere, and promoting a culture of tolerance.
