A'takamul International School

Block 1, Sabah Al Salem, Kuwait

About

A’Takamul International School (ATIS) had its origins in the desire to harmonize modern Western education with Islamic values and Kuwaiti traditions. In 1995, a group of dedicated educators and Kuwaiti investors collaborated to lay the foundation of ATIS. Initially situated in Hawally, Kuwait, ATIS joined the Institute of Private Education (IPE) in 1997 and relocated to Rumaithiya, Kuwait. During this period, the school experienced remarkable growth, expanding from a modest enrollment of 149 students to over 700. To cater to the increasing student population, ATIS moved to a new campus in Sabah Al Salem in 2003, where it currently accommodates nearly 2000 students. The essence of the school's mission is encapsulated in its name, "A’Takamul," which translates to "Integration" in Arabic. The founders believed that the most effective way to provide a superior American curriculum to Kuwaiti children was by integrating it with their own cultural values and ethos. In its pursuit of promoting and nurturing continuous improvement in student achievement, ATIS sought accreditation to ensure that its educational offerings would be internationally recognized and accepted. To achieve this, the school embarked on comprehensive processes of self-assessment and external evaluations, ultimately earning accreditation from the Commission on Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) in the academic year 2000, spanning from K-10. As the institution continued to expand, the entire school program from K-12 received accreditation in March 2002. To uphold its commitment to excellence, ATIS conducted an exhaustive self-study during the 2007-2008 academic year, leading to a successful re-accreditation. Furthermore, ATIS operates with the approval of the State of Kuwait’s Ministry of Private Education and holds accreditation from NCA (North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement).

School is upto Secondary School (IX-X) and affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The School is a Coed Day School, with classes from KG 1 to X. It is an English Medium school.
